Mr Syed Sajid Ali Shah –

Sajid Shah is the current president of Imamia Mission. He is extremely knowledgeable in the area of Islam as he has gained several relevant degrees, including: Fazal Arabic from Da rul Aloum Mohammadea (Sargodha, Pakistan, Sultan al ula Fazal from Wafaqul Madaras (Lahore, Pakistan) and MA in Islamic Studies. He has also gained certification in Islamic Research and can speak in the following languages: Arabic, Persian, German as well as English, Urdu & Punjabi.

Well known for his ‘naare’ and ‘rubaiyi’s’– Tassawar Shah is one of the oldest members of Imamia Mission, who has spent over 30 years in helping Imamia attain the popularity it has today. His passion for Imamia Mission goes beyond words and despite being aged, his almost 100% attendance rate proves this! Although, now currently holding the post of a Vice President, this has never stopped him from his ‘care-taking duties’ which he has been providing for years and appreciated by all.

Adil Shah (ex President) is another well known figure of the community. A business man by profession, he has provided a considerably long service to Imamia both practically and financially. The area surrounding the Idara belongs to him which he purchased solely for the purposes of Imamia. As a Zakir in the earlier years, he has been a positive attribute to the success of Imamia today, helping Imamia survive against all odds.

Raja Amjad also actively participates to the Imamia Mission. Being local to the mosque he has the responsibility of looking over the Idara and ensuring the place is safe and secure. In addition, he deals with the technical functions of the Idara, such as recording of majalises. He is the main contact point for having the Idara open and available for public gatherings and meetings.

Otherwise called ‘Secretary,’ this 14 year old cannot be escaped a mention. Grandson of Tassawar Shah (above), Areeb from a very young age, alongside his grandfather, has actively participated with the functioning of the Idara. As well as ensuring the Idara is well-equipped and kept clean at all times, he is the bridge of communication between the ladies and the men. Throughout the year he is helping with all activities and events taking place in the mosque which includes distributing tabaruk, providing for Iftari, organising prayers and much more. This young boys passion and interest with Imamia Mission is praiseworthy as he also holds a 100% attendance record!!! Mashallah.

Mrs Naseer is the Head of the women section. She has provided services to Imamia for over a decade spending most of her time being actively involved in it’s functioning. She is a very highly respected lady in the community and although she suffers from numerous illnesses and despite being aged, her dedication for Imamia is applaudable. As a 100% attendee, Mrs Naseer overlooks all functions, events, majalis’s in the Idara. Seeking her advice and guidance in all matters has become routine. Other than then her organisational capabilities, Naseer Bibi is an extremely talented zakira and is acquainted with a huge amount of Islamic knowledge which she does not hesitate in using to assist others in any matter of concern. Mrs Naseer has also become the face of Imamia, known in various Idara’s, she wastes no time in promoting Imamia and co-operates fully with all those seeking prosperity for the Mission. Consequently, her advice and suggestions are strongly supported by Committee members who have often delegated authority to her in many matters. Mrs Naseer also helps collect donations for the Idara which is the main source of funding the various events taking place in the mosque. As well as herself, she also has her family members involved in helping with the mosque especially her daughter-in-law Mrs Rizwana Hussain. Mrs Shireen Zahir Ahmed also assists Mrs Naseer.

Mrs Nayyer has been attending Imamia Mission for a very long time. Wife of Mr Raja, She too assists with the functioning of events at the mosque. Usually given the charge of organising and distributing tabaruq, she is another popular face whom you can approach regarding any issues.

Mrs Kalsoom has been a regular at Imamia Mission since her first attendance in 1984. Mrs Kalsoom contribution began by Zakiri which she has continued till today. She is another active participant of the Idara and helps in all organisational matters. Being present in almost all events taking place at the mosque her practical duties involve, generally helping with the running of events, collecting donations and accounting to the Committee, and collecting membership forms.

Daughter in laws and daughter of Tassawar Shah. They are all regular attendees at mosque and have been members of the mission for decades. They too have extreme love for Imamia as their local Idara, especially for Naaela who has grown up with the mosque itself. They participate and support in all events taking place at the mosque and also assist with the running of the madrassa in which Naaela and Adeela help teach the younger children. They too, are well-versed Zakira’s of Imamia Mission contributing in all Milaads and Majalises.

Mrs Nasira also participated towards all organisational activities in the mosque. She has assisted Mrs Naseer in all areas for over 5 years but unfortunately for the past year or so, due to her illness has been unable to actively assist in the works of Imamia, however her ill health has not deterred her from attending any events taking place which she insists on attending despite being recommended otherwise. She is well known for her ‘naare’ and as the reciter of the ‘Hadise-Kissa’ and continues to maintain that status-quo!

Shazia is very attached to Imamia mission having spent her entire life in this Idara. As an ex-student of Maulana Raza, she gained most of her religious education from Imamia. Despite studying and working full-time, Shazia has dedicated as much time as possible to Imamia by either being actively involved or contributing as a Zakira.
